Things To Note

Nerdcrafteria is officially on 1.20.4! We hope you enjoy the cherry blossoms and swamp wood, but be wary of all the new creatures lurking around in the new caves…
As always, if you have any issues or concerns, please feel free to bring them up with the staff through a ./modreq, a Discord ticket, or a bug report submission.

Please note that the Code of Conduct has received a few updates in line with the 1.20.4 update. Please ensure you give it a read and be aware of all the new revisions to the rules (more on this below)!

Our texture pack has also received an update with all the new 1.20.4 blocks! It can either be loaded as a resource pack from the server directly, or by downloading it here! A huge shout out to our wonderful ikilledrobot for the amazing work done on the texture pack, some of the new textures are mind-blowing!

Skyblock will be relaunching on April 14 to kick off the first season in 1.20.4! Although this will be a regular season of Skyblock, there’s plenty of things to explore with all the new blocks and mechanics. We can’t wait to see what you guys make of the new features in a Skyblock context!

Our main world scavenger hunt is tentatively slated for release on April 28th! We can’t share many of the specifics yet, but let’s just say it will require some teamwork to uncover the hidden message within…

Code of Conduct Updates

With our move to 1.20.4 also comes some (hopefully exciting) changes to our Code of Conduct. The changes are summarized below, but please note that you are responsible for reading, understanding, and abiding by the Code of Conduct in full. This summary is just for helpful reference! Major changes include:

  1. No more sign shop limits. You can have as many shops on each plot as brings you joy!
  2. Mending is allowed. Everywhere. All the time. #pantsonformending
  3. Simplification of farming rules. We have loosened some of the restrictions on farming in Economy, and generally streamlined this rule a bit for readability. See rule #5 for details.
  4. Spawner farming is allowed… with caveats. You can smack some lads at a spawner all you like, but adding to/editing the place the spawner generated to make harvesting the mobs easier is not allowed. See rule #5 for details.
  5. Removal of /home deletion rule in Explore. We now handle this through staff commands, so the rule is no longer necessary.

As always, if you aren’t certain you understand a rule, please let us know! We’d be more than happy to give examples or look over a build to help you continue to abide by the CoC.

Player Submissions

Every month, we like to showcase our players, whether that’s through cool builds, joke submissions, or player events. If you have something you’d like to submit to a future edition of the newsletter, please send the details to QuestionTuesdayFTW on Discord!

This month, we wanted to know what you were excited about with the upgrade to 1.20.4, especially as we are jumping 3 versions at once.

Many of you were incredibly excited about Cherry Blossoms and Cherry Blossom Wood, and for good reason! Wood is always a wonderful texture to work with, and the light pink cherry is a great color palette .

There was also some excitement for frogs and froglights! It’s always great to experiment with new lighting blocks in Minecraft, and the froglight is definitely a unique one!

Lastly, some love was shown for the sniffers! They are such a cute, if derpy mob and will be a great way to find some new plants!
